Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork
missravenskitchen
Saucy and sloppy BBQ pulled pork is always a great weeknight dinner! My recipe is a set-and-forget recipe, and it just so happens to be the greatest one yet! It only takes minutes to prepare and cooks all day for a fall-apart, tender, juicy pork smothered with tangy and sweet BBQ sauce.

- 3-4 lb boneless pork shoulder excess fat cut off
For the Spice Rub
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp ground dry yellow mustard
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 2 tsp chili powder
For the BBQ Sauce
- 18 oz bottle BBQ sauce
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Combine the spice rub ingredients in a small bowl and set aside. Whisk together the BBQ sauce ingredients and set aside.
Pat the pork dry, then rub it with 1/2 of the spice mix. Place the pork into the slow cooker.
Add the remaining spice rub to the BBQ sauce mixture, then pour over the pork. Flip the pork a few times so the sauce evenly coats it.
Cover with the lid and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours, depending on the size.
Remove the pork from the slow cooker and let it rest for 15-20 minutes, tenting with foil.
Shred the pork and put it back into the sauce, stirring so the sauce coats the pulled pork. Serve immediately.
*Cook time is based on the highest time for the low cook setting.
Storage: Keep in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
- Freeze: Allow the pork to cool completely, then transfer to a freezer-safe ziploc or container. Freeze for up to 3 months.
