S’mores Treats

Five minutes to make it, five minutes to eat it! These bars will be the next big item at your gatherings! These bars are made with 4 ingredients and are no-bake. A classic that’s loved by kids everywhere, I’ve packed these crunchy and chewy bars with golden grahams instead of rice krispies for a game-changing taste. Marshmallows toasted on top for that true smore’s taste you would get by the campfire.

I’ve seen this done quite a few times, so I figured I would take a knack at it! I used golden grahams in place of rice krispies just to give the treats more authenticity to the s’mores name. The marshmallows bind these treats together. These s’mores treats are gooey, buttery, crunchy, and chewy. Every bite has so much texture. This recipe can be made dairy-free with plant-based butter, which I used! I prefer plant-based butter.

How to make S’mores Treats

This recipe takes five minutes to make. Literally five minutes. It’s impossible to mess this recipe up!

  • Butter
  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Golden Grahams Cereal
  • Chocolate Bars

Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with butter. Reserve 1 cup of marshmallows, then melt the rest with butter in a saucepan. Quickly mix in the golden grahams to coat. Press it into the baking pan, then place pieces of the chocolate bars into the mixture. Top with the extra marshmallows. Broil the s’mores until the marshmallows become toasted, about 2-3 minutes. Allow to cool for 30 minutes before cutting and serving.

Tips & FAQs

  • If you have regular-sized marshmallows: I recommend roughly chopping them before adding them to the saucepan. This way, they melt quicker.
  • Replace the chocolate bars with mini chocolate chips!
  • Drizzle extra chocolate for a dramatic effect! Melt some extra chocolate and drizzle.
  • Storage: These s’mores treats will keep airtight at room temperature for up to 1 week.
  • Can I add extra mix-ins? It won’t be the traditional s’more, but pretty much anything pairs well with graham cereal, melted marshmallows, and chocolate. Mix in M&M’s, pretzels, chopped candy bars, and so on.
  • Can I make this vegan/dairy-free? Of course! Use plant-based butter and vegan chocolate. Replace the marshmallows with vegan marshmallows.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter, plus more for the pan
  • 1 (12-oz) package of mini marshmallows
  • 6 1/2 cups Golden Grahams cereal
  • 3 milk or dark chocolate bars, broken into pieces (*1)

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9×13 baking pan with butter. In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter. Add all but 1 cup of mini marshmallows and stir until melted and smooth.
  2. Remove from heat and quickly stir in Golden Grahams until evenly coated. Press into the pan and top with chocolate pieces and the remaining 1 cup of mini marshmallows.
  3. Heat the broiler, and cook until marshmallows are toasted, about 2-3 minutes, or depending on your preference of toastiness.
  4. Let set at least 30 minutes before slicing.

Notes

(*1) Replace the bars with mini chocolate chips, about 2 cups worth.

**You can cut the pieces smaller to get more servings out of it!
