Peach Pineapple Yogurt Smoothie

This Peach Pineapple Yogurt Smoothie is perfect as a snack, breakfast, or even after a summer workout. You can make this with fresh or frozen fruits! The refreshing sweetness of the pineapple mixed with the creamy peach creates a tropical profile that can only be complemented by the herbaceous mint, thickened with Greek yogurt for a smoothie that is healthy for you!

When making this smoothie, keep in mind that if you use fresh fruits, you will need to add ice. The reason I recommend using frozen fruits is that those fruits are picked during peak time, and when frozen it retains their freshness and actually is better than the fresh fruits! It also makes finding a variety of fruits easily accessible no matter the time of year. Plus, I can easily keep frozen fruit on hand in my freezer and make smoothies at any time. It also cuts down the amount of ice I need for my smoothies. I haven’t really used canned fruits; the heavy syrup is just too sweet and isn’t my favorite.

How to make Peach Pineapple Yogurt Smoothie

A refreshing healthy smoothie that is easily made within 5 minutes. All you need is a blender (or in my case, a food processor since I don’t have a blender. Gotta improvise, you know?)!

  • Frozen Peaches
  • Frozen Pineapples
  • Greek Yogurt
  • Whole Milk
  • Ice
  • Lemon Zest: This brings some brightness to the smoothie. Feel free to omit this altogether!
  • Fresh Mint

Blend all ingredients together, except for the milk. If the smoothie is too thick, add a tbsp of milk at a time until it reaches the right consistency for you. Add some ice cubes as well if it isn’t the right consistency. Enjoy immediately!

Tips & FAQs

  • Fresh vs Frozen: As previously mentioned, if you use fresh fruits as opposed to frozen, keep in mind that you will need to use more ice to get it to a “smoothie” consistency. Frozen is a good way to go because those fruits are picked during peak ripeness, and keep their fresh flavors. I actually prefer frozen over fresh for smoothies.
  • Storage: I wouldn’t recommend storing smoothies. They’re best when you drink them immediately. You can store it for 24 hours, but after that, it’s not good.
  • Dairy-Free Option: You can swap out the greek yogurt for a dairy-free yogurt such as almond or oat yogurt.
