Introducing a pork chop dish with absolutely NO marinating needed! The best part about this dish is that you won’t even believe how quick and easy this is! Of course, this was made just with ingredients I had lying around, so it was really simple. With minimal prep, this dish will be a hit at a Sunday family dinner! Make this for your family, and I guarantee you that they will ask for more, or for you to make it again another night. At that point, you might as well double the recipe. That’s how confident I am in my dish.

I mean, look at the edges of this chop. Caramelized, crispy, and delicious! You can just see the garlic bits that have been caramelized to perfection to blend in with the honey sauce. You can grill this instead of broiling, but I haven’t done it yet. I highly recommend you use a sauté pan that can be used in an oven, as well as under a broiler. If you don’t have one, you can use a baking sheet.
Five minutes of prep is all that’s needed for this. Chop up some onions and mince some garlic, add it to a pan with butter and rice and you have rice pilaf. The pork is evenly seared then broiled with a honey-garlic sauce with a tiny bit of white vinegar. Beautiful outcome while being simple. Altogether, this dish takes about 30-40 minutes to make with no pure effort. Minimal effort is required, so it’s not completely lazy. You want to toast your rice just so it looks like this. Slightly toasted, but with a nutty aroma. Oh, and did I mention I have a newfound love for bay leaves? I might start using them more.
All that’s required of this dish is a saucepan, a sauté pan (I used my 4 quart deep pan) and a broiler. Since I don’t have a broiler in my oven for some reason, I used my Ninja Foodi. I am in LOVE with my foodi! I highly recommend you get one! It’s one of my favorite kitchen toys. Here’s a link: Buy Ninja Foodi Now! Now I don’t remember if mine was a 6.5 quart or bigger, but regardless, this is the BEST appliance EVER! (Not even sponsored I swear. I just really love this.)

Honey-Garlic Pork Chops with Rice Pilaf
Ingredients
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp set aside
- 1 1/2 cups long grain white rice
- 2 bay leaves
- 3 1/4 cups chicken broth (*1)
- 4 bone-in pork chops
- Salt & Ground Black Pepper, to taste
- Garlic powder, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tbsp white vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- Fresh chopped Parsley, to garnish
Instructions
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter on medium heat in a saucepan, then add onions and sauté for 2 minutes. Add the 3 cloves of minced garlic and sauté for another minute or until onions are translucent and garlic is aromatic.
- Add the rice and toast for 3 minutes, or until some of the rice is slightly toasted. Place your bay leaves on top of the rice, then add 3 cups of chicken broth and stir. Cover, and simmer on medium-low heat for 20 minutes, or until all liquid is absorbed. Remove bay leaves once the rice is done. Start the pork while rice is simmering.
- Season the pork chops with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Heat a sauté pan on medium-high heat with the 2 tablespoons of olive oil, then add the pork once it is hot. Sear the pork until it has a golden brown sear on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. (*2) Set pork aside.
- Reduce heat to medium heat. Add the remaining 5 minced garlic cloves along with the remaining 1 tablespoon butter to the sauté pan you used to sear the pork and sauté for 30 seconds. Scrape up any browned bits. Mix together the 1/4 cup chicken broth, 1/4 cup honey and 2 tablespoons white vinegar, then add to the pan. Increase heat back to medium-high and stir occasionally until the honey-garlic sauce is reduced and thickened slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
- Heat the broiler to medium-high heat. Place pork back into the sauté pan with the honey-garlic sauce. Baste with sauce then place underneath the broiler. Broil for 1-2 minutes, or until edges are slightly charred. (*3)
- Serve both immediately. Garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes:
(*1) You can use water instead of chicken broth.
(*2) This took about 7 minutes per side for me, but that’s because I used a bigger pan. It will normally take 4-5 minutes, but feel free to leave it for longer if it does not become seared enough. Pork should reach a 145F internal temperature so be careful not to overcook it!
(*3) If the edges of the pork are not slightly charred after 1-2 minutes, you can leave it in for longer, but make sure you’re careful not to burn or overcook the pork. I used my Ninja Foodi broiler option so it took about 5 minutes for me.
